Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These terms govern your use of the HoneyLoop mobile application ("the app") developed by Brandon Surh ("we," "us," or "our"). By using HoneyLoop, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using HoneyLoop, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
2. Description of Service
HoneyLoop is a knitting and crochet companion app that helps you track projects, manage your yarn stash, store patterns, count rows, and more. The app works offline on your device and optionally syncs data to the cloud if you create an account.
We offer a free tier with core functionality and usage limits, and a Premium subscription that unlocks additional features and removes those limits.
3. Accounts & Authentication
Creating an account is optional. The app is fully functional offline without one. If you choose to create an account, you can sign up with an email address or use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at support@honeyloop.app.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
HoneyLoop Premium is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store settings.
- All payments are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
- We do not process payments directly and do not have access to your payment details.
Prices may change from time to time. If they do, changes take effect at the start of your next renewal period, and you'll be notified in advance by Apple.
5. User Content
You own your data. All content you create in HoneyLoop — projects, notes, photos, stash entries, counters, and any other crafting data — belongs to you. We don't claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your content.
By using cloud sync, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the sync service. This license ends when you delete your account.
You are responsible for the content you add to the app. Please don't use HoneyLoop to store or transmit content that violates any laws.
6. AI-Powered Features
HoneyLoop includes an AI-powered pattern parsing feature that converts PDF patterns into step-by-step instructions. This feature is powered by a third-party AI service (Anthropic's Claude API).
Important things to know:
- AI-generated instructions are provided as a convenience and may contain errors. Always verify parsed instructions against the original pattern.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-parsed content.
- Your PDF content is sent to our server for processing but is not stored after parsing is complete.
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated instructions before following them in your crafting.
7. Third-Party Services
HoneyLoop connects to third-party services including Ravelry, Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, and Anthropic. These connections are subject to each service's own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service. If a third-party service changes or becomes unavailable, certain features of HoneyLoop may be affected.
8. Intellectual Property
The HoneyLoop app, including its design, code, name, logo, and documentation, is owned by Brandon Surh and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the app.
Knitting and crochet patterns you import into the app remain the intellectual property of their original creators. HoneyLoop is a tool for organizing your personal pattern collection — it does not grant you any rights to patterns you don't already have the right to use.
9. Limitation of Liability
HoneyLoop is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
We do our best to keep the app working well, but we can't guarantee:
- That the app will always be available or error-free
- That cloud sync will work perfectly at all times
- That AI-parsed pattern instructions will be accurate
- That data won't be lost (please keep backups of important patterns)
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app.
Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
10. Termination
You can stop using HoneyLoop at any time by uninstalling the app. If you have an account, you can delete it from the Profile tab or by emailing us.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate these terms, though we'll try to give you notice when possible.
On termination, your right to use the app ends. Sections that should survive termination (like limitation of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know through the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you agree to the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the app will be resolved in the courts of California.
